🌽 Corn Pushes to New Contract Highs

  • It has been a strong week for the grain trade, with corn continuing to lead the charge.

  • Crop Tour findings suggest this wasn’t simply a regional production problem — weakness is showing up nationally.

  • Minnesota and Iowa appear to be carrying much of the yield strength.

  • Other states, including Illinois, are coming in well below last year’s production.

  • Pro Farmer is expected to release its final estimates this afternoon.

  • Corn yield expectations are roughly 177–180 bushels per acre, with yields down from last year across the regions.

  • December corn: $5.07½, +4¢ — new contract highs

  • September corn: $4.82½, +3¾¢, moving above recent resistance.

  • September grain options expire today.
